The Hastings Car Club is having a Christmas party from 10 AM to 1 PM Saturday, December 20th for
approximately 100 mentally and physically challenged youth and their teachers who are affiliated with the Barry Intermediate School District and Barry County Mental Health.
Gifts, snacks, singing Christmas carols and a visit with Santa are going to be the main features of the party in the Hastings High School cafeteria. |

This is the first year for the car club to host the party. Another organization used to sponsor a Christmas party for the kids but decided to discontinue it, so the car club decided to do it. We are trying to be a little cautious so we don’t over extend ourselves while still making sure the kids have a nice time. Next year hopefully we can build it up into a real nice party for the kids.
The Club is selling advertising on the back of T-shirts to raise funds for the party. All the children will get a T-shirt to wear and take home. They’ll also get new socks filled with candy. Every child who comes will get a gift. So far the support from the local community has been awesome and we really appreciate their help.
